Why Delegating is Essential for Home and Work

delegating

Delegating is important, especially when it comes to having time, creating time and more time during the holidays.

We all can be more efficient in creating more time; however, Americans try to do it all. It’s in our nature, but we actually lose productivity when we take on more than we can really accomplish.

If you follow the Blatchford Coaching Blog, you will know that trying to multi-task everything will actually cause stress. When you multi-task you are really setting yourself up for failure.

We don’t need to burn the midnight oil to accomplish our goals.

You can create more time by delegating tasks to others who may even perform them better. Delegating works in all areas of life, including family. When you delegate tasks and chores to your staff and to your family members you will be amazed at how much more productive you will become.

When you know how to break down a task and empower others to contribute effort, you can choose the tasks, which are best suited to you and actually accomplish those tasks in record time without distraction.

Delegation works well in a family by sharing specific tasks with spouses and especially your children. Give them the opportunity to own their spot by contributing to family efforts. Having chores and tasks to complete on a daily basis will give them a solid foundation.

At work, break down the tasks so your team can be involved and responsible. Quit going it alone and then feeling overwhelmed. Break the tasks down so your team members and family members can feel empowered. Your team wants to help and the best way to accomplish that is by delegating.
